Can I bring a plus one? Are children invited as well?
Although we would love to invite everyone, our venues are tight and our space is limited. Unless specified on the invitation, please do not bring any additional guests to the ceremony or reception, including little ones.
What is the order of events for the day?
The ceremony will start at 5:30 pm at Osprey Point, a part of the Sunset Cliffs Nature Park area along the coastline. We will have a quick ceremony, then guests can go to the restaurant hosting our reception.
Our dinner will be hosted at Buona Forchetta in Liberty Station. Guests may start arriving around 6:30 pm, but it is perfectly fine to show up a bit later! The festivities will start wrapping up around 9:30 pm.
Speaking of food, what’s on the menu?
Buona Forchetta is a local, family owned and operated Italian restaurant. It’s one of the first restaurants we tried together in San Diego and is still one of our favorites!
We will have an open bar for two hours that includes beer, wine, and mixed drinks. Just tell the bar that you are with the wedding party when you grab your drinks.
We will have a variety of appetizers, pastas, and pizza and will do our best to accommodate any dietary needs. And, yes, we said pizza - but think fancy pizza! If you’d like to preview their specialities, check out their instagram, @buonaforchettacatering.
Please note: Buona Forchetta has two locations; our dinner will be hosted at the Liberty Station location in Point Loma on the back patio.
Please wear whatever you feel comfortable and confident in! Our wedding will have a dark, gothic vibe to compliment the time of year. We don’t have specific colors, but this board shows the overall vibe we’ll be going for. Dark colors are perfectly acceptable, but no means required. White is also perfectly fine if that is your jam. :)
Gentle considerations: The ceremony will be outdoors, close to sunset. It will be a cooler time of day and the ground will be naturally uneven.
Is there specific attire for the event?
What can we expect for traffic?
The ceremony starts at 5:30 pm and traffic is heavy around that time. We recommend leaving a little early and checking Google Maps or Apple Maps for live traffic updates. Aside from that, there shouldn’t be any traffic concerns.
What can we expect for parking?
At the ceremony: Osprey Point is one of three parts of the Sunset Cliffs Natural Park. There will be a small parking lot next to the location (Osprey Point) for the ceremony. It may fill up, but there is street parking around as well. We definitely recommend driving together if you can. (need link)
At the dinner location: Buona Forchetta is located in Liberty Station, one of the more popular areas in San Diego. There is lots of parking around the restaurant and plenty of handicap parking. Again, since this is a Friday night, we recommend driving together if you can.
Will there be any festivities after the wedding?
Kinda. :)
We will not be hosting an afterparty the night of the wedding.
We are hosting a brunch for all the family at our home the next day to say thank you for coming!
As a thank you to our friends, we’ll be hosting a game night at our home that night!
Do you have a gift registry?
We have chosen not to have a guest registry for our wedding. Most of our guests are coming from out of town and that is more than enough!
If you would really like to give us a gift and there is no talking you out of it, please consider donating to our honeymoon fund. It will help you travel a bit lighter and will help send us on an adventure!
